What gets you excited about your industry?

"Adventure is out there!" - Ellie, Up

In this blog, we will chat about:

  1. What gets me excited about helping my 'not-so-techy' friends.

  2. How it can help to get joyous about what you do (even on the days when you don't feel like it).

  3. Why it's important to keep going when everything seems lost

What gets me excited about helping my 'not-so-techy' friends

I want to share my vision and values with you to give you an idea of why I get excited about helping new(er) business owners who struggle with tech.

This is my vision:

For everyone to be able to navigate biz platforms, turn their lookers into DREAM clients and to ride the roller-coaster with joy and happiness.

These are my values:

Have fun and make magic - I believe that doing something that makes you laugh, sparks joy and pays you well is how we have fun and make magic.

Learning is fun - if we can learn in a way that makes sense to our brain and is memorable, we are more likely to remember. Giggles help too!

I love tech and tech loves me - I want everyone that works with me to have this mantra, to use it and believe it.

Connection and collaboration over competition - there are enough DREAM clients and enough money to go around.

Integrity and kindness always - be kind. Life throws enough curveballs; treat people how you wish to be treated.

Why did I share these?

The reason I shared them is that I want you to feel safe in my hands. I want you to feel like you know me (a lot of you already do know me) and I would love to help you to feel like this too.

How it can help to get joyous about what you do (even on the days when you don't feel like it).

Feeling joyous about what you do can be a powerful tool to help you maintain a positive attitude and stay motivated even on the toughest days, especially when working from home by yourself (and you don't see very many people except for occasionally on a video call).

Here are some ways that being joyful about your work can benefit you:

  • Increases productivity - when you're feeling happy and energised, you're more likely to be productive and get things done efficiently.

  • Boosts creativity - joyful feelings can also help you tap into your creative side and come up with new and brilliant ideas that can help your DREAM clients.

  • Improves relationships - being joyful and positive can also have a ripple effect on those around you, leading to stronger relationships those around you, including your DREAM clients.

  • Reduces stress - when you're feeling good about what you do, it can help reduce stress and anxiety, making it easier to tackle challenges and overcome the 'shit stuff'.

Next time you're feeling down or unmotivated, try to focus on the things that bring you joy. Whether it's connecting with clients, learning new skills, or simply feeling a sense of accomplishment, finding joy in what you do can have a powerful impact on your overall well-being and success.

Why it's important to keep going when everything seems lost

Life gives us up and downs and business is no different to that.

Some days, it feels like we are all throwing spaghetti at the wall hoping some of it will stick while other days, we simply fly through everything and still have the energy for more! On those spaghetti throwing days, it can be extremely tempting to give up and throw in the towel and it feels like everything is lost.

However, it's important to remember that persevering through difficult times can lead to personal growth and success. Here are some reasons why it's important to keep going:

  • Building resilience - going through tough times can build resilience and mental toughness, making you better equipped to handle future challenges.

  • Learning opportunity - failure and setbacks can offer valuable lessons and opportunities for growth. By pushing through difficult times, you may discover new skills, strengths and knowledge that you didn't know you had.

  • Achieving goals - giving up on a goal just because it seems out of reach means you'll never know what you could have achieved. By persevering and pushing through, you may surprise yourself with what you are capable of.

  • Inspiring other - when you keep going despite the odds, you can serve as an inspiration to others who may be facing similar challenges. Your resilience and determination may inspire others to keep going too.

Remember, success is not always about avoiding failure, but rather about bouncing back from it and continuing to push forward. Keep going, even when everything seems lost, and you may just surprise yourself with what you can achieve.

Now it's your turn to share...

What gets you excited about your industry - I would love to hear your thoughts.

What my clients say...

"Working with Jo is dreamy. She listens and delivers effortlessly xx Highly recommend this lovely lady xx" - Emma Nelson, Zen Zebra Art Therapy

What's next? How can I help you?

Depending on where you're at in your business, there are a number of ways that you can work with me:

  1. The most common is 1:1 design work for social media graphics, email marketing headers and footers as well as other graphics and documents.

  2. I offer 1:1 bespoke training with my Big Dipper - you get an hour with me on Google Meet (plus it's recorded). We can go through whatever it is that you need to learn - the beauty is that you get the recording and can go back and watch as many times as you need to as it's easy to forget if we're not exercising those muscles every day.

  3. If you have a group or membership, I also offer presentation services. I will prepare and deliver a presentation based on your DREAM clients' or students' needs - I also provide a guidebook or workbook on the topic of the day.

If you're not ready for any of these yet, you can get a little taste of what it's like to work with me by signing up for my FREE gift - create an animated and clickable email signature. Click on the image to get in for the mini course.

On top of that, I have now launched (drum roll please).....

If you're struggling to work your way around some of those business platforms and want a tech geek to show you how (in a non-techy way), then this Club is for you.

It's only $7.00 AUD a month - you get step-by-step tutorials, my Canva Basics Guide, templates plus monthly Voxer office hours where you can ask me anything about your biz platforms.

I specialise in these platforms - Canva, Trello, Notion, Airtable, MailerLite, Flodesk and Wix. There may also be some Google Workspace included.
